Though often thought of as black, the volcanic gemstone onyx, also occurs in whites, creams, yellows, grays, and reds. Mentioned in ancient Greek and Roman texts, as well as the Bible, its name derives from Greek for nail, claw, or veined gem. Its been used for millennia in crafting serving vessels and jewelry. Onyx is associated with athletic strength and perseverance, as well as the release of grief.

Each mushroom is hand milled and polished from a single solid stone by skilled Northwest artisan Jim Lind to optimize its natural characteristics, and is approximately 1.50" - 2.00" in length and 1.00" - 1.50" wide.
