The deep, rich blue of lapis lazuli is thought to generate feelings of calmness and contentmentThe ancient Egyptians made frequent use of lapis lazuli, including in the famous gold death mask of King Tutankhamun . For centuries, lapis lazuli has been used to draw its owners out of depression and aid in fighting insomnia. Major sources of lapis lazuli include Afghanistan, Pakistan, Chile, and Russia. 

Our Afghan Lapis Lazuli Pendant Necklace is hand-hewn and polished by master artisan Jim Lind and is approximately 1.25" - 1.75" in length and 0.75" - 1.25" wide. Topped with a variety of either sterling silver, gold-plated sterling silver, or brass beads with semi-precious gemstones (gold-plated sterling silver and lapis lazuli shone at left), it's strung on an adjustable 36" length of 2 mm goat lace leather offered in either natural or black-dyed colors (check box after adding to cart).
