Forged by Mother Earth, they are banded chalcedony, a mineral of the quartz family. They are thought to bring centering strength to their owners - strength to persevere through difficult times, and strength to ward off bad dreams, with banded agates being particularly useful in encouraging happy dreams. 

Our handcrafted Banded Agate Pendant Necklaces are sliced from a mother stone for optimal visual and spiritual effect, then are topped with a variety of either sterling silver, gold-plated silver, or brass beads with semi-precious gemstones (sterling silver and onyx shone at left), all of which are strung on an adjustable 36" length of 2mm goat lace leather.
